36 Weeks

36 weeks, and feeling HUGE.

Just look at that pointy belly button. Holy smokes! I have tried putting a band-aid over it, in hopes to smush it down some, but it does nothing.

The biggest thing for me right now, is that I am just ready to be done being pregnant. On SO many levels. Done gaining weight, done feeling limited on what I can wear and do. Done being paranoid about stretch marks. I'm done wondering how difficult it's going to be, and how fun it's going to be once he arrives. I just want to start it already. Yes, part of me is still nervous, and kind of sad that my attention will have to be split somewhat, but it's the inevitable, and I might as well face it already. I'm just sick of anticipating the worst, and I'm ready to just do it haha. Also, I've never been so anxious for a great workout in my life! I've pretty much never been a big "worker-outer", but last year zumba really did it for me, and I want to get back into that groove SOO bad. I don't know if I'll do zumba again, because I just don't know if I'll enjoy it as much as I did in Nephi, but I miss that feeling that comes with getting a great work out regularly.

I'm getting induced November 6. I was pretty firm on not getting induced this time around just because I wanted to experience going into labor on my own. But, I changed my mind. My doctor was actually the one who suggested it, so November 6 or sooner, our little Tanner will be here!

When I ask Gavin, "Where is your baby brother?" He will go to my belly, lift up my shirt, and touch my tummy. It's sweet. Clearly, he doesn't know what "baby brother" actually means, but I'm really not too worried about him not liking his brother. I guess we'll actually see how it goes haha.

Tomorrow, I have a doctor's appt, and that is going to be the first time they "check" me. Part of me hopes that I'll be somewhat dilated, but part of me doesn't. Spencer is going to be gone this week from Friday-Monday of next week. Then, he'll be gone the whole next weekend too. Hunting, of course. So, I'd prefer it if sweet Tanner would wait until after the hunts are over. But, I'm also pretty done being pregnant. If I haven't made myself clear...

3 weeks from today I'll be in the hospital having a baby! Crazy, crazy.

Catch-Up

Introducing baby #2's name...

We almost named Gavin, Tanner. So, it has been an option for us from the beginning of our family. We are so excited to finally meet him (though this pregnancy has not dragged on at all for me).

This pic is at 30 weeks. I'm measuring a week ahead. I'm currently 32 weeks. I feel pretty good, though I'm really starting to get uncomfortable. I really hate walking up the stairs. Especially when I have to carry Gavin. It is so hard haha. It's also getting difficult to hold Gavin with my big belly. And heartburn has been a bugger this time around.

My sister had her baby! They named him Jack. He is SUCH a cutie. Gavin and I were lucky enough to go meet him while he was still in the hospital with his mommy. He has lots of dark hair, and the sweetest little cry! Seeing my nephew Jack got me really excited for Tanner to arrive, but yet again also made me more nervous to have 2 tiny little boys haha. I am trying my darndest to prepare mentally for it, but it just makes me nervous a lot haha. Don't get me wrong, we are so excited for Tanner to come into our family! I just really hope, and want to be the mommy they both need.

I'm also really trying to soak up everything Gavin does. Knowing that it is just him and I at home for just a little while longer, honestly saddens me, because he is at such a fun age, and I don't want to miss any of it.

This past weekend, our nephew got married. Spencer's family invited us to spend the weekend with them in Park City since the wedding was in Morgan. We had a blast! We stayed in a nice condo, and had a lot of fun visiting with everyone. Gavin got a lot of attention all weekend. I also got several "looks" out in public. You know, big pregnant belly, and a tiny boy in my stroller. It's expected right?

The wedding was so great. They look so happy together. Sadly, I didn't get a picture of the happy couple. But, I at least got some pictures right?

Aw. My beautiful sis in-law Katie. She is one of my bestest friends. I really feel like she is one of my own sisters. She's just great. And super gorgeous right?

My sister in-law's dad took this picture. Perfect timing! Big ol cheeser that I love.

 A few cuties

 Gavin with his cousin Mckay.

The church was so pretty!

I love these ladies.

Have I made it clear how much I love this little boy of mine?

Life is just flying by! My husband is now in his late 20's, we've almost been married for 4 years, we'll have 2 kids soon, he's in his second year of pharmacy school, man we are blessed and so happy!

25 Weeks

Being pregnant this time around has been a lot like the last. Not too many difficult symptoms, and healthy progression. I'm very grateful for that.

I feel HuGe. I think I'm probably the size I was with Gav at 33 weeks. Ugh. Not my kind of self-esteem booster.

I had an appt. the other day. My sister and I scheduled our appointments close together so we could ride together {thanks again Amy!}. I was given the news that at my next appt I would have to do the glucose test. Yay... And everything looks good and normal and on track. Amy is about 7 weeks ahead of me, and they were going to peek at her baby on the ultrasound. It was so fun to see my nephew! He has some chubby cheeks, and was so active. They also did me the favor of looking at our little one.

He was also very active. Nice and stretched out. Seriously. His legs were extended as far as he could get them, and then he had his head tilted back with his neck all stretched out. It's like he knows he needs to enjoy the space now, because it isn't going to last much longer.

We tried to get a good profile picture, but he wouldn't hold still long enough for it.

So we got some of his legs and feet.

He is definitely getting stronger and more active! He moves all of the time I swear, and sometimes his kicks are so hard and random that it almost makes me jump from surprise! It is my favorite thing about being able to be pregnant. I love the feeling of them moving.

Random fact: Did you know that mustard yellow actually makes you look really large? Yep. Proof is in this picture.
My belly button is poking waay out. It never went all the way in after Gavin, and I don't think it ever will again.

I still haven't had anyone ask me about my pregnancy. Well, I guess people in the ward have, but strangers haven't. Whereas with Gav, it happened ALL THE TIME. I wonder if it's because I'm already carrying a baby in my arms, so they figure that my huge tummy is just left overs from him. Haha.

I've always been a pretty emotional girl. Spencer has helped me to not always act on emotions or get worked up all the time. It still happens though. And especially when I'm pregnant. I definitely feel the hormonal roller coaster this pregnancy. A lot of it is me just not putting up with anyone's offensive comments; either I will say something to rebuttle their comment or I will care too much about their thoughtless comment. Which means a more blunt side has also been at the surface of my emotions. Not sure if that is a good thing or not. So, sorry if you have been unfortunate enough to encounter my pregnant-ness. I promise it's not because I don't like you! Hormones are pretty impossible to control.

We've discussed a few names for this baby. Tanner and Luke are kind of the top two for right now. We're not making a decision til closer to the due date. We'll see, I guess!

Getting excited-though still not too anxious for his arrival. We are looking forward to it for sure though. Can't believe I'm going to be a mom of 2 BOYS! :)

Half Way There

I had my 20 week ultrasound a couple of weeks ago. I was nervous, which is not surprising. I just wanted baby to look good and healthy. Well, the tech was awesome. She looked at his lip-no cleft lip. She looked at the fold of skin on the back his neck which can indicate a risk of downs-that measured normal, which means there is very low risk for downs. The baby is completely, and perfectly healthy! We are so happy for that news. He is also measuring 2 days ahead of his due date. First, it was a week ahead, so my due date was changed, now it is 2 days ahead of that. He is a growing boy!

It was great to see him move around, hear his heartbeat, learn that everything is looking good. We are so lucky and so blessed.

I don't feel like she got very good shots of his face though, but whatcanyado. I was also a little disappointed they don't do the 3-D pictures, but this technology is still amazing to be able to see him!

My belly at 21 weeks:

Look at this shot of him crossing his ankles. Must be pretty comfortable in there.

This pregnancy has FLOWN by compare to my pregnancy with Gavin. With Gavin, it seemed like the weeks dragged on, and I stayed at a certain amount of weeks for a really long time. I remember when I reached 20 weeks, it was like, "FINALLY", but then it was also a bummer, because I still had 20 weeks to go. With this one, it's like, "I'm already 22 weeks. It seems like I was saying I was 16 weeks just last week." I'm sure it has a lot to do with the fact that I still have a baby to take care of, but I can't get over how quickly it has gone.

I'm still really nervous to have 2 kids so close, but I just keep telling myself it would have been an adjustment even if Gavin were 2 or older. So, I'm doing my best to prepare myself mentally that it will be another adjustment. A good one though for sure!

17 Weeks and It's A Boy!

Here I am at 12 weeks: {It was hard for me to get used to that look on myself}

Here I am at 17 weeks: {So I changed it. And yes I know I look like I just rolled out of bed. Truth is, I had been ready for bed since I woke up that morning. This was taken at 11:00 pm. I'll do my best to be dressed in real clothes for other shots though I can't promise anything}

We go to the same Dr my sister does. When she was round 16 or 17 weeks, they had peeked to see what the baby's gender is {she's also having a boy!}. We were hoping they'd do that at my appt as well, because Spencer won't be at the 20 week appt. Well they did, and we didn't even have to ask! She pulled me back there right when we arrived, and I was so relieved she did.

I was also expecting her to say it was a girl! I am not sure why I was so set that this one was a girl. We would have been thrilled with either one of course, but I have only been thinking of girl names. Anyway, it was obviously a boy, and we are SOO excited! And yes, I'm totally going to be that mom that dresses her two boys in alike outfits.

Our little dude:

It will be interesting to see the differences between baby#2 and Gavin. Their personality differences, and growth differences. For some reason, I am SO relieved that it's a boy and not a girl. I'm less nervous and stressed. I am not sure if that's because we already have a boy so another one doesn't seem way different, or what the reason is. The fact that I'll have a newborn and a 15 month old still doesn't change, but I'm just not as nervous! In fact, I'm really, very excited! Oh, and I'm not saying that I don't want a girl, or didn't want a girl. I still want to have a baby girl someday {not anytime in the near future after this baby is born though}.
It will also be fun for Gavin to have a little friend to play with {and vice versa} at any given time. We're also glad, because then we don't have to go out and buy a bunch of new clothes. Their birthday's are in different seasons, but there are still plenty of things this baby can wear of Gavin's. That's a big relief.
And this picture is just fun. My little man is so cuddly. He will cuddle with me at almost any given moment, and I just love it. He's going to be an awesome big brother, because I think he has a big heart. I'm so blessed.

Another Great Day!

Man, we are on a roll with great days around our house. We have a lot of good days, some not-so-good days, and few great days.

It started out Saturday morning. I suggested to Spencer that we go on a walk as a family. So, off we went on a walk around the neighorhood.
It was a fairly long walk, and I was getting hot, and wanting to go back home. Then we saw a sign for a yard sale down the street a little bit. We decided to go check it out in case we found some great deals {I've always been a little skeptical of yard sales, but decided to give it a shot this day}. There was actually 2 yard sales, and a garage sale all within walking distance from where we were. We stopped at a yard sale first.
We felt a little awkward, because we had never really done yard sale-ing before, and we were just looking through these people's stuff. Anyway, we found A TON of cute clothes that were in great condition for Gavin. Name brand stuff like The Children's Place, Osh Kosh, Gap, Gymboree, etc. The guy originally had them marked $1.00 a piece, but since we had picked out so many, he was going to take like $7.00 off the total price. Well we didn't have cash with us, so we had to run home, and he said he would hold them for us. Then when we arrived back at their house, he learned that we were in the same ward {which we had no idea of}. He then took another $5.00 off of the total price! I also found Gavin a coat that he can wear this winter. Gosh I was just so grateful for his kindness. He said that we're in the ward, that means we're like family {even though he had never met or seen us before}, and we're also going to school, so he is happy to spare a few bucks. It probably was no big deal to him, but it meant a lot to me. We basically paid .50 for each piece of clothing, and they're name brand! Gav is set with clothes til he is 18 months.

We then stopped at another yard sale. They had a lot of baby clothes too, but it wasn't as cute, or in as good of condition. They had a carseat base that fits our carseat. For how much? $1.00! We'll be putting that in the truck. It will be so nice when I have to drive the truck, to have the carseat base. They also had a crib for sale. One thing that I have not been sure with what's going to happen when we have this baby is the crib/bed situation for the kids. Will we buy a twin? Will we just keep the new baby in the playpen? I just wasn't sure. Twin beds, btw, are not cheap. Anyway, this crib we bought for $5.00! We're going to paint it, but otherwise, it is great. So Gavin's bed will turn into a toddler bed, which he can use for a couple of years. This crib we just bought also turns into a toddler bed, so we can use it as that if we need to as well.

What I'm getting at is that we have been so blessed. When we were contemplating about starting our family, a concern of ours was how we would provide for them while we were still in school. I had always felt as long as we are doing our best with being frugal, then we would be just fine. We have had so many people in our life giving us things for Gavin without even asking if we needed it, and then learning afterward that we did. We didn't have to buy anything for him {though there were still some small things I bought out of want}before he was born, because of some great family. He had enough clothes for him to wear up until 9 months. And now he is good for another long time. I am just so grateful for all of the amazing people who have helped us, and for the Lord working through them. We are very well taken care of, and even though we do try to be frugal, I don't think it's by anything we have done. I just think there are a lot of good people around us, and I'm so humbled by that.

P.s- I think I'll be going to yard sales a lot more often.

11 Weeks

I had my first Dr appt today. I was nervous, but not as much as I was with my first appt with Gavin. If it had been the same doctor I used with Gavin, I wouldn't have been nervous at all, but today was the first time we met him. And he seems great!
I was also nervous to see how the baby was doing, and if we were having twins or not. Haha I knew it probably wasn't likely, but still the thought crossed my mind. I don't know what kind of emotional state I would be in if we were having twins. {not that it would have been bad, but I don't know how we could have managed 3 kids under 15 months. Emotionally, physically, or financially. Yikes}

Not to worry, I won't be in WAY over my head, just over my head. There is only one baby. One healthy baby! I am measuring a week ahead, so my due date is November 13. I'm 11 weeks and 1 day today. I'm still nervous about having two kids, and having them close in age, but today I think I am the most excited I have been yet. Probably because we saw the baby for the first time, and it's like, "that's our child!" Before, we were still kind of in that denial stage in a way just because it was such a shock to find out we are expecting. Spencer is more excited too :)

The baby looks great, the heart rate is great, and I feel pretty good. It wasn't a real active baby today, but moved a little bit. It was still a little surreal to see that baby on the screen. Two kids! So weird.

Yay for a healthy baby #2!
