Binki: Be Gone.

Sweet Gavin has loved his friend binki from the day he was born. He and binki were almost inseparable. Where Gavin went, binki went. To his bed Gavin would go to sleep, and binki would be right by his side {or in his mouth} to keep him company. In the car, Gavin would have nothing to do, and binki was always there to keep Gavin's hands {or his mouth} occupied and busy. When Gavin needed comforting, and mom was doing her best, but wasn't quite satisfying Gavin, binki would always come to the rescue. He would always give that last little bit of comforting that Gavin needed.
Needlesstosay, Gavin was in for the shock of his life when mom would take his friend binki away forever. Gavin has yet to understand why mom would do such a thing. Let's face it, binki made Gavin happy when nobody else could. Why take that away?

The past few days, mom has been wondering the same thing. Gavin has not been his usual, pleasant self. Tantrums and fits have been a regular occurance throughout each day, and over little things that were never an issue before binki was taken away. Gavin has sure made mom second guess her decision a few times. He is not going down without a fight {literally}. But, mom has been strong and has not given in. She knows what is best for her sweetie, and knows that binki would have had to leave sometime, and if she had waited, it would have only been harder for Gavin to move on to bigger and greater things.

Dear Gavin, you have always been sweet and loving. Mom is sorry you have not been feeling like living up to your reputation lately. She does, however, want to thank you for still sleeping like a champ for naptime and bedtime. Xoxo.

Goodbye forever binki!

Ps. Goodbye to the bottle as well. Served Gavin well while he needed it. The bottle will not be missed.
