Christmas Eve we spent with my family. We ate a yummy dinner, the grandkids exchanged gifts, and opened presents from grandma and grandpa Bunderson.
Then Santa showed up! He and g-ma Bunderson arranged a time for him to visit the kiddos. They were all so excited! When my little niece Addy saw him she is a little over two years, she put her arms out like she wanted to pick him up, and said in a sweet little voice, "Santa?"
So Santa started out with singing some songs with the kids, and then it was time for another gift. He had "brought" a gift specifically for each kid. When he pulled their gift out of his big bag they would go up and sit on his lap. He first would tease them some, and then they would say what they wanted for Christmas, and then they got their gift. Santa asked my nephew Logan what his favorite subject in school was, and he said, "lunch" very matter-of-factly. This is really funny, because he is a big fan of food, and has been since the day he was born he's not chubby in the least bit though, just a good eater.
It was so fun to see all of their individual personalities come out. I was nervous for Gavin to go up, because even though he is smiley for just about anyone, he doesn't like his doctor and will cry when the doc talks to him haha. Anyway, Spencer took him to Santa, and Gavin was completely oblivious as to what was going on, so I was kind of glad for that haha.
Sadly, I forgot my camera that night, but luckily I have a wonderful sister who took a pic for me while Gavin was on Santa's lap. :)
After that super fun party, we headed back to Nephi. This year, we started the tradition of getting jammies on Christmas Eve.
Dad and Gavin on Christmas Eve.
The gifts that Gavin got at the Christmas Eve party. The Elephant ball popper is from my mom and dad, the Dr. Seuss books are from his cousin Addyson, and the Ten little monkeys book is from Santa. Thanks everyone! It's obvious Gavin likes his gifts.
All of us in our new jammies. Spence got new b-ball shorts, and was excited about that. My jammie outfit I got from Maurices, and was VERY excited because I love my comfies, and Gav got football footie jammies. He could care less. ;)
Gavin got a bumper jumper! He likes it, but is still a little small to jump in it. He also got a few more books, teething toys, and a few clothes.
Spencer got quite a few more hunting gear/gadgets, and is of course anxious to get out in the field to try them out. Darn school! ;)
Spence sold our old laptops yes two of them, and got me a new computer for Christmas. I looove it. I also got some nice hiking boots (from my in-laws)! I'm actually really excited about them, because when we do go out hunting, my feet get frozen, then I become a baby, and don't want to hunt anymore. With these boots which have the highest insulation of boots out there, I'll be able to enjoy the hunt, and Spence will too because then he won't be listening to me whine! Haha.
Spencer's parents gave Gavin a nice church outfit, as he did not have one. They also gave Spence a really nice fishing tackle box. And he LOOOVES it. My parents gave us a family home storage starter kit, which is AWESOME PAWESOME, because we are super bad at the home storage thing, and they also gave us some goodies. Yay!
We are very fortunate to have gotten what we did. We are living off of student loans right now, and have been able to save a lot of money in order to have had the Christmas we did. We don't spend money, like ever, so it was kind of nice to get some nice gifts for each other for once. :)
Later Christmas day, we went to Spencer's aunt's house for dinner and visiting. The food was yummy of course, and the company is always good to see as well. A big thanks to the Beck family!
Over the past two weeks, Brock and Katie have been home from school. It's been so fun to have them around! Brock had his birthday on the 30th, so the four of us and Gavin of course, went to Texas Roadhouse, and then to Cold Stone. Spencer's parent's had to work at the temple, so they couldn't make it, but they paid for all of us to go out that night. Thank you muchos!!
Gav and I on Christmas day. He's in his cute little church outfit.
